Well, we made it to and through the 50 year celebration!  

By many of the comments that were shared last night at the Walker, people had a wondrful time.  Beautiful venue (even though the outside patios were VERY windy), great food, lots of shared memories, but mainly just catching up with old friends & perhaps making some new ones. 

As one classmate told me (who had to be convinced by his wife to come), "This event exceeded all of my expectations.  Fantastic job!"

Thanks to everyone who worked on the planning and to all who came!

Hello Classmates of 1971!

Tomorrow is our big event! We chose the Walker Art Center because of it's amazing outdoor terraces! We will have two terraces for our use. The smoke is clearing out and the temperature tomorrow will be in the low 80's. Check in at the reception desk on the 8th floor, grab your food and drink and head to the patios!  There will also be a bar on the patio. See you there! Deborah J Young

Welcome classmates!  Our reunion is 3 months away and counting down fast.

What is happening now?

• Our talented class photographers, Don Wong, Mark Nelson and Larry Falk, are working on a continually running slideshow of our greatest high school moments. 
• Although our venue is stunning, our gifted design committee, Linda Hudson, Carol Heerma, and Jean Settering, will add their creative touches.  
• Our perspicacious finance team, Mike Swift and Rolf Sonnesyn will coordinate ticket sales.  
• Our savvy social media and website group, Laurie Hamer-Gilgan, Doris Dingley, Linda Hudson and Deborah Young, are promoting our event on Social Media and administrating our email and website.
• Our intrepid and awesome Molly MacGregor assembled our list of 542 classmates for the save the date card and invitations. 
• The invitations, created by amazing graphic artist, Mary Brozic, were mailed to classmates this week.  
• Classmates are creating their profiles on the website. If your graduation photo is in the yearbook, we will upload your "THEN" photo for you.

What's next?

• It is time to reserve your hotel room, if traveling to the event.  Hotel suggestions are located on the Travelers tab on the left.  

• Tickets for the event are now available! Tickets are $75.00. You may purchase with a debit or credit card on the website or send us a check, see Buy Tickets on the left or via Venmo @Cadwallader-Washburn. 
   
• Tickets must be purchased by July 25th.

Dear WHS ‘71 Classmates,
                                   
We are looking forward to our 50th reunion this year!  A group of us started planning and we are asking for your help. You can participate in tasks and/or by donating start-up funds.

    What you can do today:

Donation:  Please make a donation for this year’s planning work on our reunion website. This is purely a donation; it won’t reduce the price of your ticket for the reunion. We now have a $5,008 balance and only need 36 people to donate $50 to meet our goal of $6,800 by June 1, 2021!

Register:  Please go to "Classmates" on the left to create your profile. If your graduation picture was in the yearbook, we will upload your Then photo for you. Registering will help us to know who is aware of the 50th reunion, allow us to sell tickets, keep classmates updated on our progress/needs, create the memorials, etc.  Go to "RSVP" on the left to let us know you are interested in attending the event.
   
Here are our plans so far:

Date:          Saturday, July 31, 2021
Location:   Walker Art Center Garden Terrace Room and Terraces
Cost:         $75.00 per ticket
Planning expenses:  mailing “Save the Date” and Reunion Invitations, deposit for venue, catering, website subscription.  We are looking for $6,800.00 from donations.  With this amount in donations, we may be able keep the classmate ticket cost at the lower end of $75.00 and provide an upgraded experience in food and design.
Tasks:       Drive classmates to our event website, search for classmates on Washburn Connections, Classmates.com, Facebook, etc.  Prepare mailings, pick bakery (for cake, of course!), pick venue, pick photographer, decorate and clean up venue.
